Agarala Eswara Reddi's 77th birthday celebrated

TIRUPATI: A. Gnanam, former Chairman of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), a wing of the University Grants Commission (UGC), opined that public affairs has become a line of work fraught with undesirable and uninspiring elements, with the best of brains tending to look away.
Speaking at the 77th birthday celebrations of Dr. Agarala Eswara Reddi, former Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, here on Tuesday, he said people like him should focus more on public issues with due analysis and study.
“Given his expertise, Dr. Reddi should focus on issues spanning public affairs, academic, constitution, judiciary and so on,” Prof. Gnanam commented, recalling the leader's non-controversial approach and industrious efforts towards rapprochement when he was at the helm of affairs.
His books on higher education and politics are highly appreciated by readers of Tamil Nadu also, he noted.

A. Ramasamy, Vice-Chairman of Tamil Nadu State Council of Higher Education (TNSCHE), acknowledged Dr. Reddi's services to the field of higher education for decades.
T.C. Rajan, former legislator of Palamaner and a nonagenarian, advised Dr. Reddi not to pin hopes of getting any gubernatorial posts in the present day “murky political situation” and instead concentrate on academics.
A. Alok, member of Indian Institute of Public Affairs (IIPA), New Delhi, SVIMS Director B. Vengamma, Dr. AER Educational Group's director A. Jaganmohan Reddy and principal Kalathuru Sudhakar Reddy were among the participants.
